Next year

Ok what will happen next season is a mystery but one thing is for sure. Coach Kiffin won't be the coach of Arkansas. Bobby Patrino, who Al Davis supposedly desperately tried to hire as the Raiders coach is taking that position. Wait you say "Isn't Bobby Patrino the coach of the Falcons?" Why yes he WAS. THat fool quit on them 13 games in to take the Arkansas job. I sure am glad he turned down our job. That shit must suck when your coach quits on you in the middle of a season. Must feel like "Shit we've been bustin' our ass and getting smoked this season for nothing." WTF. What a little biotch!!

packers game

That sucked. We go from our best game played in 3 years to one of the worst games we have played in that same span. No other comments from me. Sorry.

I hate the damn pats

All I got to say is I hate them motherfuckers!!!!! I believe the history of the NFL would have changed if that damn play in new england would have been called right. The Raiders were hot!! We would have gone on to beat the steelers and would have won the SB that year and the pats would not be what they are now. Sorry but that's the truth so now!! Last night fuckin' sucked. I don't know if the head coach is responsible for calling time outs but damn!! An assistant called the damn time out that cost the ravens the win. Guess who that assistant was............defensive coordinator Rex Ryan-yup Rob Ryans brother. The pats were saved three times on that drive. They also got a penalty on fourth down when brady threw an incomplete pass in the endzone and their damn receiver was juggling the ball before he got 2 feet down. I don't care who they play, I don't hate any other team more than I hate the damn patriots!! Anybody who plays them I hope they kick their ass. I'm hoping we get them on our schedule next year so we can beat their ass and Kirk Morrison or Huff can knock the hell out of randy moss!!

Electric!!

Ok so we were at the game yesterday and I gotta say, that was the best game I've been to and the best the Raiders have played in a lonnnnngggg time!! When we took pocession of the ball for the first time McCown was greeted w/boos. Then what does he do-he throws a touchdown pass to the BIG MAN-Tim Dwight!! Man just what the Dr. ordered. The place went nuts for a while-intil Denver scored. McCown kept playing well and making sound decisions-whic he has never done as a Raider.

We were seated on the away side. I thought I was seeing things. I look across the field and see #2 loosening up. I whispered-"He's warming up". Nobody had to ask who "He" was. The whole field started mumbling. Then he throws on his helmet and all hell breaks loose. The Colisseum went nuts. I haven't heard it that loud in there ever besides when they won their first playoff game in forever a few years ago.

JRuss looked good!! He looked a little nervous, mishandling a couple of snaps, but the man can move. He gots a cannon for an arm-you can tell that even though he only thre short throws. Now we've had rocket arms in the past ie. Jay Shroeder but he's got touch on his passes unlike the latter named QB. His ball gets there in a hurry but he's got touch. He is also HUGE!!. Coming up to the line he is taller than some of the linemen-he's 6'6" and 250#s. He has good instict in the pocket. Once the pocket collapses he bounces around and takes off. Everyone was pissed off when he came out but shit, give McCown a break. He played his ass off. No interceptions, three touchdowns. WHAT. Is this the same QB we've had all season?

Man my new hero is HuggyBear. That man is a stud (HAHA)!! Another 100+ game. Damn I can't wait 'til next year!! Guess what, our defense also did not allow 100 yards rushing!! We got torched in the passing game but I think that we concentrated on stopping the run so much that we were left a little vulnerable. We are close people, alot closer to being good that I thought we would be at this point. I'm just hoping that these Arkansas rumors are just that because next year and the year after should be really good if we keep our coaching staff in tact. Hopefully the team keeps playing well. And PLEASE, whoever the QB is let's not be so quick to judge. We all want to see JRuss plaing but we have to support our guys, even Josh McCown. Gotta give the guy a chance. I have to admit everytime he dropped back I was nervous as hell but hopefully he keeps playing well or whoever starts next week!!

The Curse is broken!!!

It's about damn time!! I thought we would never beat a division rival. I'm glad we punched herm edwards and the chiefs in the mouth in their home stadium. I can't believe they challenged that spot on the ball, lost the challenge and a time out then went for it on 4th and 1. Bringing back memories of when we used to stomp herm edwards when he was coaching the jets in the Gannon days!!

For all you doubters out there, Janikowski is a stud. That 55 yarder he hit would have been good from 65. The only field goal he has missed since his horrible start (which were all 50+ or long tries from the dirt) was a 64 yarder that damn near went in. Huggybear is also a stud. He's starting to remind me of Charlie Garner, quick to the whole and powerful even though he is not huge. I still think they should have let go of Rhodes and activated Bush to see what we have in him. I think Kiffin should sit down and talk w/Jordan and put it to him straight-Fargas should be the featured back and bring in Jordan in relief. Kind of like we used to use Wheatley and Garner.

I know that we played the chiefs and they are not all that great, but damn does it feel good to win!! Fargas looked good, Culpepper looked good, Jerry Porter was awesome-he took some wicked hits . Some stats:

Culpepper 15-22 for 170 yds
Fargas- 22 carries for 139 yds (6.32 yds/carry)
Porter- 3 receptions for 75 yds.
Janikowski- 2 field goals 25yds/55yds

Our run defense still looks like crap-this is the seventh game this season we have allowed a runner to gain over one hundred yards. Let's see our defense resurrects careers-ron dayne and also launches them w/allowing rookies to run for 100+. Something tells me this is not just personnel but is something that can be helped schematically!! I don't know, with this win we may not get to see J Russ next week. Why would Kiffin start Russell over Culpepper now w/another win under his belt. Would you bench the only QB to win you a game? Enjoy this Raider Nation-this is by far the best game that we have played in the last 2 seasons!! Hopefully we can manage a few more wins this season so we have something to look forward to next season!!

Some of what we have riding the pine.....

Ok so some of the choices being made by the head honchos is not making too much sense to me right now. We got 2 guys Rhodes and Jordan who do not want to be here. We have another running back who is desperate to get off the PUP list and get on the field-Michael Bush. So we are getting mixed signals here. Kiffin or Davis is saying that Jordan or Rhodes are not good enough to contribute to us winning but they are good enough to not waive in order for them not to beat us???? WTF. So what if denver or kansas city picks them up. It's obvious that this season has Tidy Bowl written all over it. Let's see what we got.

I was never too happy w/Fargas up until this season. He has rode the pine for three years on a team that was going no where. But he has shown a lot this season. He has never complained and just waited. Now he is shining. If they end up keeping Fargas him and Bush will probably battle it out for #1 next season. They should have cut Rhodes or Jordan and Walter and signed Bush to the roster so they could access him for next season.

Here is a glimpse of what we have sitting on our practice squad......

Boooorrrriiiinnngggg!!

Yeah I'm with everyone else in that this team is starting to get boring as hell to watch. The Radiers and niners are starting to become mirror images of each other-Ok defense w/NO OFFENSE!! I just can't stand that everyone knows our pass game sucks ass- 1) Can't pass protect 2) Receivers can't get open 3) When the receivers manage to get open the QB's overthrow them and 3) When they finally get a catchable ball it goes through their hands. Damn Mr. Whited and Doug Gabriel ain't looking that bad anymore are they? The bears respected us so much that when we went 3 wide they didn't even break out their nickel package. That's how bad it has gotten.

The Raiders are again getting to be amongst the leaders amongst the league in pass defense. Going into the bears game they were ranked #3. Last year we were #1. I have come to a conclusion for this year as well as last years defense. The reason we rank so high in pass defense is because everyone runs against us. Besides this last game any running back that has been really bad this year or their whole career has turned into Walter Payton against us-LaDanian Tomlinson, Ron Dayne, Larry Johnson, Ronnie Brown, etc, etc. So guess what our defense is not that great, they are mediocre at best. They did play pretty good this last game though. They held the bears down until the very end. You could only ask a 4th stringer (Chris Carr) to do so much. Although I have been down on the defense most of this season, I was proud of our squad this week.

Special teams did an awesome job as well-Janikowski is kickin the crap out of the ball as is Leckler. And our coverage team!!! Way to fuckin go. We kept Mr Hester in check all game except for the one play that got called back for holding. I am glad someone go the balls (coach Kif) to kick to this guy.

So now hopefully the dolphins don't start winning because if the niners get the #1 pick, guess who gets it-new england!! And if we get it, we saw how this year went. All I could hope for is a #2,3,4 or 5 pick and grab a speedy receiver. If that is not possible would love for the Raiders to trade down and pick up some new talent on the O-line or package the pick w/a RB and grab Chad Johnson from the bungles. That is so freakin sad that it is November and already I'm looking toward the drat. I just want a damn descent season. I am not even asking for playoffs here, just get us to 5 or 6 wins so we have something to look forward and say "Yeah we are better than last year, an it's only gonna get better. Come on J Russ!!

Word on the street....

Is that this Sunday Jamarcus Russell will be listed as the 2nd string quarterback. I was listening to 1140 a.m. (it's as close to a Raider flagship that we are going to get at this point) and they regularly have Raider players mostly Miller the TE and they have Greg Poppa in the mornings. The host hinted to Russell being listed at #2 for Sundays game. When miller finally came on he asked him point blamk: "A little birdy told me that Jamarcus Russell will be listed as the #2 quarterback for Sunday against the bears. Is this true." Miller didn't deny it just said that Russell has been taking a lot of snaps in practice but that McCown definitely will start and has taken the majority of the snaps with the first team.

Although I definitely know that Russell will not make us winners this season I definitely know that he needs as much experience this year as possible to be able to make next year interesting. With the same system and continuity at quarterback and hopefully running back w/Bush, Fargas or Jordan back there I definitely know next year will be an improvement. I know I'm not in the locker room like the blogs from the Trib and shit like that but the guys that post comments on their blogs say some crazy shit!! The other day there was a comment like "the Raiders are 2 games out and they can win the division and make the playoffs!" WTF honestly in a way I don't even want to make the playoffs with the way we are playing this season, unless they did a complete turnaround and started blowing everyone away!!

OK so let me play GM for a minute. There is a lot of grumbling that Chad Johnson is on his way out of cinci. What do they need? A running back!! Guess what we have? 4 viable running backs. Guess what we need? A speedy wide out! I say we trade one of our running backs along w/Jerry Porter or Ronald Curry (preferably) to cinci for Chad Johnson. This guys has been a terror until this year although his first four games he was tearing it up!! It's a win win. If they want we could even throw in a second or third rounder. We need a speed wide out to stretch the defense.

Although I'm in the minority here I think the O-line will be better next year w/maybe a change or two. This is a position that doesn't come around overnight. YES I called the whole O-lin "A" position because in reality that's what it is. It's 5-6 guys that have to work as one. It takes time for them to meld together and start working as one. Remember the O-line from the 5-6 years ago. Lincoln Kennedy, Steve Wisniewski, Barret Robins, etc. They were together for a while before turning into something as great as they were. They are a way underrated O-Line in NFL history. They were AWESOMe. Don't know if you guys listen to KNBR but that whiny "Razor" is the biggest Raider and Al Davis hater ever BUT just the other day he called that generation of Raider offensive lines a "thing of beauty" and said he never seen anything like it.

Well whoever's making out to the game this Sunday-have fun, don't get too crazy and lay off McCown a little. It's not ALL his fault. As soon as my kids get a little older I will be buying season tickets for me and my son. Until then I'll stick to my 1-2 games a year. Damn I miss the days of going to just about every game!!

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

On October 25th Rodrigo commented he misses the days when the Raiders were in the playoffs and they had an awesome offense and just wants them to be respected within their division.Dude they say a great defense wins championships. F that how about a respectable defense and an awesome offense. Must suck to be Rich Gannon having to call Raider games for CBS. I know he just sits there and shakes his head. Makes you think if the Al didn't get antsy and pick up Collins in Gannon last season what could have been. Not saying he would still be playing cuz he's a fogie and also not saying that they would have won that year but check this:

I believe that with Colins breathing down his neck Gannon felt he had something to prove. On the play he broke his neck on, he ran the ball right up the gut, head down. That was really un-Gannon like. Although he ran a lot he always did it smart-running towards the sidelines, taking what he could get and sliding. You rarely saw him go "head up" especially not w/someone like Derrick Brookes.

I feel everyone just needs to be patient-this includes the Nation, ownership and the coaches. Impatient decisions such as the Kerry Collins pick up usually cost us big time. Imagine if Gannon were to have been left alone w/Brown and Rice foe another year or two to mentor the next generation of Raiders. Oh yeah with Gruden in there to coah. Let's see we would have continuity and stability something we have lacked since what the 80's. Al always wants to win YESTERDAY. But he has to realize that switching coaches every year doesn't equal championships. Look at most of the winning teams around the league-colts, patriots, packers, steelers, broncos they all have either the same coaching or the same system in place for a few years. Shit the damn steelers have had 3 coaches in the history of their team!! We've had 5 coaches since 2001!!

I don't want instant gratification-I want to make love. I want it slow with lots of foreplay let it build up and give me my satisfaction-a damn SuperBowl win at the end. I don't need a quickie right now. I need I mean the Raiders need to have a system overhaul which I think coach Kiffin has put in place and let this thing run it's coarse. To quote Al Davis- "The Raiders will win." It just won't be this year but if we give our coaching staff and our young players a chance to let this thing run it's coarse it will happen, just don't expect to "bust a nut" this year or next.

On a lighter note-watch Nip/Tuck, it prmieres tonight. Has just as much T-N-A as a cinemax movie!!

R.I.P. 2007 Raiders

Ok I know that's a bit of an exaggeration but let's face it the turn around that could have been is pretty much done. I was wishing for a historic turnaround but it's pretty obvious that's not going to happen. Yesterday was just weird. They looked ok in the first half but it's all mental mistakes that keep us from winning and now it seems as though the giddiness of Kifin Vs. Shell is wearing off.

"You know what? It's kind of like last year, to be honest-close games that we can't win,"-Nnamdi Asomugha said yesterday.

It's not like last year though. The only difference now is that the few vets that are hold overs are going to start comparing it to last year. This team actually has some direction to it now. The offensive line just has to get back to playing how it did the first four games. They have to give a little bit better protection and stop with the penalties already.

Our defense held vince young to 42 yards passing and the offense to just 218 yards. You should win these games. But guess what we only gained 238 yards which is not much better. You can't just be mad at Mike Williams for dropping a 4th and 14 pass that would have made a 1st down. It's the whole offense that's ailing and not just one guy. Even though I just said that what they made need to fix what's ailing them is a shot in the arm of Jamarcus Russell.

He suited up yesterday for the first time.  Although he may not take us to the playoffs this year, by putting him in their this year and letting him get some experience we may get their next year or the year after. If he gets in and is declared the #1 guy an no more "I don't know who is the starter on Sunday crap" he may rally the offense and get some wins this year. It's clear that Culpepper or McCown is not the answer-Culpeepper doesn't have the mobility that once made him a great QB and McCown has the mobility but not the leadership and poise to carry a franchise on his back. BUT I believe they have someone riding the pine that does poses those two attributes and he has a fat wallet which is going to dislocate his hip from leaning to one side if he doesn't get in soon!!

Damn I'm pissed

Ok so I took a few days off to post so I wouldn't get on here and make an ass of myself. I was pissed off this Sunday. I hate games where we should win and then choke at the end. Honestly both the chiefs and Raiders deserved to lose. The chiefs for not putting us away and us for not being able to beat a weak ass team who sucked most of the game just a little less than we did.

We are just too predictible-run on 1st and 2nd down, pass on 3rd. We have to mix it up to keep the opposing defense honest and get us some shorter 3rd downs. When you get some 3rd and 1's and 3rd and 2's-you can run, pass, play fake, boot leg just about anything goes. I have to remind myself to patient with this team. This is a project. Jamarcus Russell will not start as long as the Raiders are w/in striking distance of 1st in the AFC West. The chiefs are in 1st place at 4-2. That means if we would have won Sunday the Raiders would be in 1st. We still play denver at home, san diego at home and kansas city on the road.

Believe it or not the playoffs are not out of reach at all. This team will not throw in the towell anytime soon, so the rest of this season may be very painful for us. It will kind of be the way giant fans have been the last few years in baseball. Their division has been pretty bad so no matter how bad they have been they are always w/in shouting distance of the playoffs. Hopefully with two healthy quarterbacks, they will both compete to show they should be number 1 and they will start to look better. Too bad we can't trade Walter anymore to get a speedy receiver to stretch the field.

What the hell is this about.....

Can America's game be held out of our country. That would be crazy especially for fans of the teams to play in the Super Bowl.
I remember when the Raiders went in '02 I was seriously thinking of going-tickets were like 2G's. Can you imagine coming up w/another
1400 dollars for airfair and hotel accomadations and stuff that goes along w/overseas travel.

sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-superbowl-london&prov=ap&type=lgns

Ok so who's starting this week Culpepper, McCown or Russell. I say start Culpepper and let's see how he does w/a couple of
starts under his belt and if they keep struggling and they lose a couple more games in a row throw the rook in. I am hoping we see
see him by the end of this season. I am really curious to see this "rocket" of an arm. We'll be athis weeks game and I am hoping
to see the running game take off again and smoke "The Show"-that be the chiefs.

Arrrgggghhhh

"Everyone in the Nation has to be patient. What does everyone think is going to happen next year w/Russell starting-he will take his lumps and learn on the fly to!! Look for a miserable next 2 seasons-they'll look great 1 or 2 quarters or even for 1 or 2 games then suck ass for the next 2. They don't have clear leaders such as Gannon, Brown and Rice on offense YET to show them the way. Be patient grasshoppers, remember Gruden took 3 years to turn it around-look for the same w/Kiffin."

That was a quote from my very first post at the start of the season. Damn did this one hurt. Not becaue it was there for the taking and we blew it at the end but because we were never really in this game. We were down 14-0 half way through the first quarter and it almost felt like san diego let up a little bit. It could have been FARRRR WORSE!!

Honestly I believe this game was lost with the play calling. We didn't even try to establish the run game which early in the season has been our bread and butter. I applaud guys trying to play hurt-McCown and Jordan but when there is a viable back up-Culpepper or in this weeks case Rhodes and Fargas I think coach Kiffin has to have the stones to say "Thanks but you're sitting." Don't get me wrong Jordan is the man and I love his ballsy running but if we had to alter our style because he was hurt that ain't gonna fly. I know that the chargers are monsters up front but I think we should have at least tried to run in the beginning then mix it up.

Right before the half a few things bothered me:
1) Curry did not stretch out to try and hit the pile on.
2) Why did we not try pounding the ball in from the one since we still had a time out.
3) After we got punked and pushed back why the hell did we run another play w/9 seconds left and no time outs?
I know that a touchdown there would have completely turned the momentum in our favor but to drive to the 1 and come away with no points in that situation, on the road, especially since we were getting the ball back after half time is crazy.

If our full back can't get the job done, can't we get a "jumbo" package together-2 tight ends and maybe a big mofo like Warren Sapp or Richards in at full back? I believe Gruden used Sapp in short yardage situations in tampa. If we were to run something like this for a while eventually we could actually run this package in and play fake w/a Tight End peeling off the line.

What the hell was wrong w/Culpepper today. He looked nervous like in preseason-dropping the exchange, throwing some weird looking balls. Is it possible that he is not healthy and Kiffin was using the "he doesn't know the playbook" excuse as a smokescreen? It's pretty obvious that we need an upgrade at wide receiver. We need a speed guy that can catch to open up the field. These little 2 yard outs aren't going to get the job done. And last but not least our #3 ranked defense sucks ass!! They need to step up. Everyone besides our backers are playing like crap...especially the safeties. The safties are supposed to basically cover your corner's and font line's mistakes not look like they are lost all the time.

Sunday Vs. The chargers

Ok did you guys see san diego steam roll denver? Could this be them finally waking up and responding to "the great norv turner". Let's hope this was a fluke. The stomped denver 41-3. WTF did they take some No-Doze and finally wake up and decide they are actually good? I saw that "rumor mill" article on the Oakland Trib website. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it although I think the Raiders are all for getting better any way possible. If there is any truth to any part of that article I would be surprised to see them trade Gerard Warren or Warren Sapp. Although Sapp has no sacks to date he has been a disrupting force this year. I could definitely see how the weight loss has benefited him. Just about avery pass play he is in there chasing the QB. It's only a matter of time before he gets a couple in a game once or twice.

Did you guys see they let go of the running back w/the hard to pronunce name-I believe he is Nambi's cousin. I knw I could go back and find his name but I'm trying to finish this post before work starts and don't have the time!! He should be a good pick up for someone like green bay who is lacking a running back. Speaking of green bay-charles woodson looked good last night until he fumbled a kick return!! I don't wish him any ill will but I used to love that guy and can't stand that he left for the $$. I think he would have made an awesome free safety fr us had he bulked up a little bit.

We still have one too many quarterbacks and one too many runnning backs. It would be a good idea to dangle them out there as trade bait to try to pick up a fast wide receiver to open up the offense a little bit. With so many teams out of contention so early in the season, there may be a lot of teams trying to unload salaries and disgtuntled players. Look for something like this too happen soon with Rhodes being back from suspension and McCown looking healthier. I seriously doubt we will see McCown start another game this season, especially if Culpepper does good against san diego. I think we are more likely to see Jamarcus start before McCown.

Sucks to be this guy!!

As you guys no I'm an avid fisherman. What's weird is I don't care to much for fish but there is nothing like being out in nature, relaxing and doing battle w/a monster of a fish. I usually only keep what I will eat or can give away to someone who will eat it if not it goes back in the sea, river or lake to fight another day!! Imagine being this guy, he goes out fishing and you catch a car w/a guy in it. That dude caught a human-cicle. I can't believe the guy in the car survived!!

QB Position

Wanted:

FT position running a decrepid offense. Salary: DOE. Benefits include but not limited to being pummeled by opposing defenses, get orders barked at you by a rookie offensive coordinator, the glory associated by resurrecting a once proud franchise. Candidate must show great leadership skills, run like a mad man to avoid the rush and MUST pocess manly shoulders to avoid seperation from your body. Please send resume and try-out tape to the address listed below.

Sounds like the ad placed by the Raiders last year right? Now the shoe is on the other foot. The niners offense sucks and they need a quarterback. According to ESPN Alex Smith may undergo season ending shoulder surgery, although the niners are denying that is the case. Either way he should be out an extended amount of time. Know anyone who has a QB to spare? Hmmmm maybe we can trade McClown or Walter to them for hmmm Ashley Lele? He's not the greatest receiver in the world but he always played good against us when he was w/Denver. He may be what we need to stretch the firld and get our other receivers open and expand our offense a little. What do you guys think?

Dolphin's Game

Damn did the Raider Nation need this game!! Daunte Culpepper looked good but most of all the offensive line dominated!! I hadn't seen one of our o-lines play that good since the SuperBowl season! I mean Huggy Bear tore it up. I was all for releasing his ass at the end of training camp but he showed a lot today. His first long run where he got tripped up the gained his balance back and took it to inside the 20 was awesome. He showed a lot of heart. But guess what? The o-line had no penalties allowed only one sack and sprung our runners for 299 yards!! That was the most yards since the game where Bo Jackson ran over Brian Bosworth on Monday night wayyy back in the day.

Although Culpepper did not  have to pass all that often due to total line domination, he showed he still has it and had it not been for a couple of dropped balls by Curry hI don't think that salaries in the NFL are guaranteed at all. Andrew Walter is making 435k wwhile Josh McCown is making 2mil this year. If McCown's salary is not Guaranteed and Culpepper continues to play well I wouldn't be surprised if they end up keeping Walter and cutting McCown-Culpepper #1, Walter #2, Russell #3 w/Russell Gradually moving up the depth chart and taking over by the end of the year if we are no longer in contention. If we do contend for the AFC west or a wild card at the end, don't be surprised to see Culpepper start the rest of the year and offered a contract befor the season is done to give Jamarcus Russell some more time to learn the ropes.

One thing I really liked about this game a whole of a lot is that Kiffin showed some balls!! At the end of the 1st half it was awesome that he trotted Janikowski out for the field goal, let the refs spot the ball then when they got the spot right threw Culpepper back in forcing miami to burn a time out. That shit was spot on brilliant! Then to actually go for it on 4th and 1 and call a play action was ballsy and would have worked had Curry not dropped the pass. I am not going to get TOO excited because miami was 0-3 and now 0-4 but this game showed that we are in the right direction. As of today we have 12 touchdowns which equals the total for all of last season!! We get to rest then go back at it in 2 weeks against a suddenly beatable charger team. I don't know what's up w/the-how do you go 14-2 then bring back your whole team back basically and start 1-3. I don't know maybe their smart as GM should have brought back a key component-the COACH!! I am so glad they got hound dog looking Norvel Turner. He sucks ass. When the news came out that they signed him as their new coach I was happy as hell, let's hope he keeps them in the same direction they are heading!!

Next 4 opponents:

at san diego
vs kansas city
at tennessee
vs houston

The  niners lost and gained less than 200 yards on offense again!!

Could it be?

Raider rep Artie Jigantino came on the radio yesterday and said that Jamarcus Russel could be starting as soon as right after the bye!! WTF I know he is supposed to be the shit but for us to have a chance this season I think they need to let Culpepper give it a try. Coach Kiffin said again he is not sure who will start this Sunday in Miami. Hmmmm let's see-McCown has 6 interceptions to 2 touchdowns, he has 2 sore wheels and a broken finger in his throwing hand. Culpepper is healthy, moved the offense better in the preseason and played for Miami-I'm sure he wants to put a hurting on them. Is he actually considering NOT starting Culpepper or is this another smoke screen. At some point he has to stick w/someone and not play this "I don't know who is going to start game." Lamont Jordan is the shit. And that's all I got to say about that.

BBBoooooyyyyyaaaahhhhh!!!

Damn I was crapping my pants and was glued to the damn radio this Sunday. I was supposed to go the game and I'm kicking myself in the ass for not pulling the trigger on the tickets!! For those of you you who were bitching and moaning about last week and that the Raiders got ripped off. What do you think now. I told you all that shit was genious!! Although it was a short fg last week I thought Kiff should have called a TO on denver. You never know what could happen!! This was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. Yeah I know I didn't go to the game and yeah it wasn't on TV but listening to Greg Pappa is like being at the damn game in person. I was glued to the damn radio!! O-line is looking awesome. Defense is coming around. The browns  scored 51 points last week. We only allowed one touchdown. That's pretty good. We've got a long way to go but getting that first win is great. Arguably we could be 3-0 but 2-1 is more realistic. It would be great if we could win in Miami next week and go into the bye 2-2!!

So back to the Culpepper V. McClown thing. I watched the KPIX 5th quarter deal and although McCown did throw for a touchdown all his throws are behind his receivers. Just like the TD to Porter last week he under threw Curry on his TD. Don't know if it's because he's hurt or just because he is sorry but he HAS to sit. Two bad wheels and a broken finger on his throwing hand AND he's not that great. Culpepper needs to be starting next week.

Alright the "Fire Andrew Walter" clock is ticking. Jamarcus' 2 week roster exemption is up after today so look for Walter to be released as early as tomorrow and Russell to be the 3rd stringer. This all depends on how bad McCown is hurt. If he's bad then Walter may be bumped to 2nd string and the Raiders may carry 4 Qbs until McCown is good to go. Walter might have lucked out today but he should be gone sometime after the bye.

All is well in Raiderland. The Raiders won. The state of the team looks to be stabilizing and the Niners looked like shit today!! I'm so glad they got a pounding. Did you guys see the hit put on Vernon Davis?!?! I wish there was a clip on YouTube I could post but here is a picture.
That's What happens when you complain about not getting the ball enough!!

This shit is gross

No not the state of the Raiders starting QB situation but follow this link. I would hate to be this poor SOB.....

http://nynerd.com/polar-bear-attack-survivor/

Ok so Donavan McNabb is saying that the reason that he gets booed and critisized in the media so much is because black QBs are judged differently than white QBs. Dude get a clue you're getting booed because you suck. I think he has last 6 of his last 7 starts. He deserves to get booed-black, white, purple whatever. Suck it up and prove people wrong. McClown is white, he threw for 300 yards his first game and was booed on opening night. I gauran fuckin te you he will get booed Sunday to. Shit Steve Young used to get booed in San Francisco when he took over for Montana. Maybe Philly fans will always be Philly fans but maybe he's getting booed because he sucked last year, got injured then Jeff Garcia came and lead the Eagles to the playoffs.

McCown starting??

Ok so McCown is still starting? WTF. Is Culpepper that far behind picking up the offense? Is his knee bothering him? Or is Kiffin sticking to his guns to prove a point that he's running the ship and not Al or the Fans are going to dictate his decisions. I don't understand how the guy throws 5 interceptions in 2 weeks and still the starter. Hopefully all this optimism that the East Bay and the rest of the Raider Nation had doesn't evaporate as fast as it came.

Bronco game....

Ok so yesterday we got smoked by the Broncos. I know that we only lost by a field goal in O.T. but it was even that close. The offense laid down in the first half AGAIN and if it wasn't for a safety and an interception ran back for a TD and a 2 point coversion we would have only scored 10 points again. I don't hate Shanahan. I hate that he always beats our ass but I don't hate him just because for the last 4 seasons he's had a better team that us and always out coaches us. Was I pissed when they waived off that FG to make Yankikowski re-kick. HELL YA!! When he hit it I was screaming, jumping up and down the whole bit. Then I see Kif bringing everybody back-I was like "Hell no not again". But you know what what Shanahan did was completely legal and above all else.....genious!! I tip my hat to him. He does what everyone else would do in his position.....show up his former employer and keep proving that they made a mistake in letting him go.
When he got fired when he was our coach I was all for it. Most of us reading this were very young back then but let's try to think back to what he did....He tried to wipe the slate clean and bring on a new era of Raider football-mor disciplined and with much more structure than ever before in Los Angeles/Oakland. He tried to do what Gruden and now Kiffin are did and is doing now. Hopefully Mr. Davis let's evolution take place so we can see that the "Raider Way" is not always the right way. Sometimes you have to rebuild and not just reload!!
Ok McClown has to be benched-based on his skill level. Rich Gannon's guts must have been turning seeing this guy run an offense which is supposed to be similar to what we ran when he was here. On the 2 plays to Porter at the end which would have won the game basically-he over threw him then under threw him. This guys is not a starter, he is a lifetime back-up basically. He is someone you carry on your roster to plug in there in case of injury to not LOSE the game but not someone you start ahead of a Pro-Bowler!! We have the perfect excuse to bench him-broken finger and sore foot. Let's see Culpepper in there and see what he can do. Bottom line is we are not very good. A good team would have found a way to win yesterday. You sometimes go a season or 2 w/out a safety and you may get a score or 2 on defense every few games. When you get one of each and a 2 point conversion in a close game YOU BETTER FIND A WAY TO WIN. But I'll take my own advise and be patient!!

I hate the damn patriots.....

Alright so the patriots coach (I refuse to refer to him by name) was fined $500k by the NFL and the team was fined $250k and have to give up a first round pick. WTF they get 2 first rounders so this amounts to a slap on the wrist. Their coach makes $4.5 mil and he's being charged $500k? Does anybody think that the team didn't know what was going on. You know they are going to pay his fine. If this was the Raiders the whole world would fall apart. Al Davis would be booted from the league and stripped of ownership. Coach Kiffin would be suspended for ever and we would be docked $5mil from our salary cap. Dude they should be stripped of their Super Bowl rings and while their at it put the universe back together by giving us the fuckin' snow game and putting us in that years Super Bowl like it should have been.  Even though I hate the damn patriots, I hate to say this but I have to root for them to beat the chargers and hound dog faced coach turner.

Ok so McCown practiced yesterday. I know that the QB's wear a red jersey in practice so they don't take any unnecessary hits. BUT.....why don't we pool our $$ together to pay Warren Sapp or Derrick Burgess to blow through the line and put him on his ass. Let's see what Culpepper does w/the # ones.

That just ain't right!!

Ok so I'm going to work this morning and I see this green mini van in front of me. I see a big ass Raider sticker on the driver's side rear window. I'm like "Yeah, soccer mom's representin' ". I look a little closer and what do I see on the passenger side of the rear window.....................a damn 'niner emblem-it was black so it blended in w/the tinting!! That shit is just not right. Pick one side or the other. That's almost as stupid as those retarded half A's/giants hats.

So Monday I was watching the niner game.......I can't believe they had 110 yards total offense through 3 and 9/10 quarters then turn around and blow up for 85 yards in 2 1/2 minute. FUCK THEM and their fans-atleast during a niner game. Ok I got that off my chest. I can't understand how the Raiders look....ok then awesome and then fall apart at the end. BUT the niners look like shit all game and some how pull it out at the end. #25 on the Cardinals is a chump just like #80 on our team. When there is a damn fumble w/hella fools around just dive on the damn ball. If #25 would hav just slid and cradled the ball it would have been game over. If #80 on our team-I don't remember his name Madsen maybe a new tight end-would have just dove on the ball they still would have had a chance. Just straight knuckleheads!! Damn that was like therapy there.

While I'm watching the game my wife says "Why do you hate the 49ers so much?" I told her "I just do. I'm a Raider fan and those are the rules!" Before we were married she was a niner fan but I put that shit in the prenup....if she ever wore any niner shit or even thought about putting any on our kids or even cheered for them I get everything-the house the kids everything and she would be out on her ass. So she converted to Raiderism.

My kid made me proud yesterday!!

Ok here goes my first post all. Well yesterday as my wife (Nina) is getting my 3yo son (Jose) ready for school, she throws on a black Raider pull over. My son stops her and says "Mommy, the Raiders are cool and the forty niners suck." Nina says "Why is that?" He says "Because my daddy says so and that's the way it is"..........sniff sniff when she told me that it brought a tear to my eyes.  Alright so the Raiders where do I begin. We finally got Russell signed which is a relief. Not that he will contribute much this year but at least the circus will come to an end. He better be worth the wait!!! As far as last Sunday goes....

I think that Culpepper should be starting but in all fairness to McCown-he looked ok. He threw for over 300 yards. He just doesn't have the experience that is needed under pressure to win a game in the closing minutes. If HE was our quarterback of the future I wouldn't mind leaving him in there to get that experience. But in all likelihood whoever is the QB this year is one and done so the obvious choice would be Culpepper. You also have to remember that Culpepper has been out for 2 years basically. This year is going to be fucked up-Kiffin wiped the slate clean. Everyone's gone: players, coaches even front office staff. Honestly-thank God!! we needed a fresh start. It won't be impossible to go .500 but it would be amazing. Everyone in the Nation has to be patient. Be patient grasshoppers, remember Gruden took 3 years to turn it around-look for the same w/Kiffin.
