On October 25th Rodrigo commented he misses the days when the Raiders were in the playoffs and they had an awesome offense and just wants them to be respected within their division.Dude they say a great defense wins championships. F that how about a respectable defense and an awesome offense. Must suck to be Rich Gannon having to call Raider games for CBS. I know he just sits there and shakes his head. Makes you think if the Al didn't get antsy and pick up Collins in Gannon last season what could have been. Not saying he would still be playing cuz he's a fogie and also not saying that they would have won that year but check this:

I believe that with Colins breathing down his neck Gannon felt he had something to prove. On the play he broke his neck on, he ran the ball right up the gut, head down. That was really un-Gannon like. Although he ran a lot he always did it smart-running towards the sidelines, taking what he could get and sliding. You rarely saw him go "head up" especially not w/someone like Derrick Brookes.

I feel everyone just needs to be patient-this includes the Nation, ownership and the coaches. Impatient decisions such as the Kerry Collins pick up usually cost us big time. Imagine if Gannon were to have been left alone w/Brown and Rice foe another year or two to mentor the next generation of Raiders. Oh yeah with Gruden in there to coah. Let's see we would have continuity and stability something we have lacked since what the 80's. Al always wants to win YESTERDAY. But he has to realize that switching coaches every year doesn't equal championships. Look at most of the winning teams around the league-colts, patriots, packers, steelers, broncos they all have either the same coaching or the same system in place for a few years. Shit the damn steelers have had 3 coaches in the history of their team!! We've had 5 coaches since 2001!!

I don't want instant gratification-I want to make love. I want it slow with lots of foreplay let it build up and give me my satisfaction-a damn SuperBowl win at the end. I don't need a quickie right now. I need I mean the Raiders need to have a system overhaul which I think coach Kiffin has put in place and let this thing run it's coarse. To quote Al Davis- "The Raiders will win." It just won't be this year but if we give our coaching staff and our young players a chance to let this thing run it's coarse it will happen, just don't expect to "bust a nut" this year or next.

On a lighter note-watch Nip/Tuck, it prmieres tonight. Has just as much T-N-A as a cinemax movie!!

I disagree. The Raiders looked just as bad under Gannon and they would have still been terrible that year after the Superbowl collapse. They weren't bad because Gannon got injured, they were just bad. Yes they could have provided leadership if they kept some veterans but the team needed an overhaul starting with the offensive line. That is the beginning and end of their issues, they need to build up an offensive line that doesn't fall over when a strong wind comes their way.

Pinche Rodrigo, I think you just like to argue-

My last sentence of my first paragraph:

"Not saying he would still be playing cuz he's a fogie and also not saying that they would have won that year but check this"

I actually agree with you dude!! I don't think they would have won that year at all. They probably would have been .500 or 9-7 AT BEST, but continuity or lack there of is a big factor why we have been bad not just the last 5 years but also before Gruden, Gannon and Rice came along. The "hired gun" tacticts don't work anymore. They have to get a system in place and stick with it. And yes our O-line is sucking ass right now, but they do have a scheme now that is not from the days when Kenny Stabler played or for that part Jim Otto's time. The Raiders will win, but it will take a couple of years of same scheme and adding and subtracting players to the O-line and picking up a speed wide receiver.

Yeah, it is just annoying that supposedly it takes a few years to rebuild yet it doesn't seem like the past few years they have been trying to do that, start with a solid base and work from there. In the past they just changed a few players/coaches and assumed all would be well.

This year is finally the start when they should have done that the losing season after the superbowl. I just hope the rebuilding is just that, and not some major issue with the organization like Josh eluded to in one of his emails. If that is the case the Raiders could be another Lions who spend decades in the rebuilding phase!

Damn, I got a woodie just reading your rant, lol. Question... I think that Al Davis is going to choke one of these years. What will happen once that takes place? Who's in charge? Will they let this new team run its course?

Al Davis Chokes? Don't get your hopes up. He is like Mr Burns, the blood in his veins has long since dried up and turned to dust.

Guess who's next in line after Al Davis? Al Davis!! His kids are next in charge. I think Davis has found a way to be cryogenically frozen but has sold his soul to the devil prior to being frozen so he can still move around and shit. That's why we have sucked so fuckin bad and why we had prehistoric game plans last year.
